I run a small tech consultancy based in London, now in its third year of operation. Having successfully grown from solo operations to a small team, we're expanding further to tackle ambitious projects across healthcare, logistics, and finance. Our latest venture is a ridesharing platform specifically designed for the African market.

Role Overview
This is a dedicated, project-focused role perfect for a developer who thrives on deep technical challenges and who’s excited by building projects to scale.. You'll be the lead developer on our ridesharing app, working closely with me as the Project Manager to customize and enhance an existing codebase for the African market.

This position offers excellent growth potential for someone ready to take ownership of a significant project while gaining valuable experience in emerging markets and transportation technology.

Key Responsibilities
Primary Focus: Lead development and customization of a ridesharing application
Take ownership of a medium-sized existing codebase and rapidly get up to speed with the architecture
Design and implement custom features specific to local market needs and user behaviors
Maintain and enhance both mobile applications (rider and driver apps) built in Flutter
Develop backend features such as advanced dispatch and demand dampening
Collaborate directly with the PM to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Ensure app performance, security, and scalability meet production standards
Participate in project planning and technical decision-making

Technical Stack
Mobile Apps: Flutter (iOS & Android)
Backend API: Node.js + Sequelize (JavaScript)
Database: SQL with Sequelize ORM
API Architecture: GraphQL
Admin Panel: Vanilla JavaScript + CSS

Skills & Requirements
Essential:
Strong proficiency in Flutter(Dart) or Java
Solid experience with Node.js and JavaScript backend development
Experience with SQL databases and ORMs (Sequelize preferred)
Understanding of GraphQL APIs and integration
Ability to work independently and take ownership of a project
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly
Excellent English communication skills for remote collaboration
Highly Preferred:
Experience working with existing codebases and legacy systems
Understanding of geolocation services and mapping APIs
Experience with AWS or cloud platforms

Nice to Have:
Knowledge of payment integration systems
Understanding of real-time systems and WebSockets
BA in Computer Science or related field (not required - strong portfolio valued over formal education)
