Compañía de Fomento Barbareta is hiring a hands-on Head of Hospitality to lead all hospitality and service operations on a remote private island. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced hospitality operator ready to take on a unique island challenge.

Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, the Head of Hospitality is responsible for the coordination, quality, and execution of all hospitality-related operations on Barbareta Island. This role ensures smooth daily functioning for approximately 150 staff while delivering high-standard hospitality experiences for visiting guests, including island ownership.

Main Responsibilities

The role manages three core operational areas:

Human Resources administration, housekeeping supervision, and internal maintenance coordination

Kitchen operations serving three meals daily to approximately 150 people

Guest-facing hospitality including island setup, bar stocking, menu coordination, table settings, decor, and guest relations

A. Human Resources and Administration

Oversee daily HR administration (attendance control, scheduling, staff coordination)

Supervise housekeeping standards across staff and guest areas

Manage minor internal maintenance and escalate major issues

Ensure staff accommodations and common areas meet cleanliness and functionality standards

Support onboarding and supervision of staff

Promote a respectful and positive workplace culture

B. Kitchen Operations

Oversee kitchen operations providing three meals daily to approximately 150 people

Coordinate food ordering and transport logistics from Roatan

Support menu planning with the Chef, balancing nutrition, cost control, and availability

Ensure hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards

Coordinate special meal services for visiting owners and guests

C. Guest and Island Hospitality

Lead island setup and operational readiness for visiting guests

Oversee bar stocking, food ordering, menus, table settings, decor, and flower arrangements

Manage guest relations and hospitality service standards

Coordinate closely with the Chef during guest visits

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Operations

Compliance with housekeeping and cleanliness standards

Zero disruption to daily meal service

Timely referral and resolution of maintenance issues

Inventory and Cost Control

Inventory variance within agreed thresholds

Minimal food and beverage wastage

No critical stock shortages

Staff Management

Stable staffing levels and low absenteeism

Clear duty rosters and task completion

Positive feedback from staff and management

Guest Experience

Guest areas fully prepared ahead of arrivals

Consistently high presentation standards

Positive feedback from owners and visitors

Requirements

Comfortable living and working full-time on a remote island

Spanish-English bilingual (required)

Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality, lodge management, hotel management, or general services operations

At least 3 years leading operational teams in high-standard environments

Strong leadership, logistics, and decision-making skills

Ability to plan, coordinate resources, and resolve operational issues effectively

Solid knowledge of hospitality operations management

Knowledge of Honduran labor law and local employment practices

Experience in staff supervision, housekeeping management, food services, report preparation, and KPI monitoring

Service-oriented and proactive mindset

Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Tourism, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Compensation and Benefits

13th-month salary (Aguinaldo)

14th-month salary

Statutary contributions to RAP and INFOP as required by Honduran law

Paid vacation in accordance with the Honduran Labor Code

Occupational risk insurance as required by law

Personal protective equipment provided

On-site accommodation and meals included

Transportation to and from the mainland

Annual severance allowance payment (Auxilio de Cesantia)

Employer-paid municipal and income taxes

Work Schedule and Rest Periods

Work schedules are planned in accordance with the Honduran Labor Code, ensuring legally mandated rest periods and weekly day of rest. Any operational adjustments will be compensated according to applicable regulations.
